Think safety everyday!


When you think of safety, what's the first thing that comes to mind? A helmet? Glasses? Well, safety equipment is very important, but there's more. Safety is more than an ideal or way of thinking. This is a daily series of standards and procedures that must be followed.

The costs of non-compliance to safety are evident. Accidents result in injuries that lead to the absence, the time and even fines. You pay just to be sure. And not just at work. Accidents at commuters break, lunch or even at home still have an impact on your production.

The best way to instill good safety habits is too constantly remind your employees. Hold safety meetings on a regular basis. Keep track of how long you have been without incident. Hang posters and banners throughout your facility with safety slogans. Include messages in paychecks. Distribute promotional items such as helmet safety and stress balls shaped like a cone, think chocolate bars security, safety tips and pocket calendars and planners toolkit with your own custom security message.

Customize your safety program for your company. If you are in electronics, have regular training on security practices acceptable. Educating the proper management of hazardous chemicals, if you are dealing in an industry that involves liquids and solvents. For everyone, a lesson in proper lifting and carrying of packages, freight containers and is a must. And do not forget the cleaning. Spills should be reported and work areas should be kept clean at all times to avoid tripping and falling or other accidents.

Back up safety devices. Helmets, goggles and noise reduction should never be ignored as surefire ways to prevent injuries. Above all, visitors to your facility. The last thing you need is a suite of law.

And finally, remember that safety is a commitment of 24 hours. Employees can be injured or off the job. It may not be responsible for the actions of someone out of time, but if they are injured, not the watch for a bit '.......
