Definition of micro, small and Medium Enterprises
The condition for a company to be recognized that SMEs are respected and effective limits or boundaries of the balance sheet, or the turnover.
Midsize companies have between 50 and 249 workers. The turnover limit is increased to 50 million euros, and the balance sheet, up to 43 million euros. Small with 10 to 49 employees. The limit of the turnover and balance sheet will increase to 10 million euros. Micro enterprises have fewer than 10 workers. It will introduce a limit of 2 million euros for turnover and balance sheet.
With regard to the calculation of turnover, are distinguished:
The independent company with financial and staffing data, based solely on the accounts of that company.
The company with associated companies whose turnover results from the accumulation of data from the company and companies related company asociadas.La other companies whose turnover is added 100% of corporate data to that is linked.
The SME definition distinguishes three types of firms (independent company, associated and linked) depending on the type of relationship they have with other companies according to their share capital, voting rights or to exercise a dominant influence.
Independent company
It is the most common. This is any company that does not belong to one of the other two types of companies. An enterprise is autonomous if:
It has a 25% or more in another empresa.No has a 25% or more controlled by a company or agency, or jointly by affiliates or agencies, except excepciones.No has consolidated accounts and is not included in the accounts a company with consolidated accounts, which is a related company.
A company may, however, be ranked as autonomous, but reaches or exceeds 25% limit, when present the following investors (provided that these are not linked to the company in question):
Public investment corporations, venture capital companies, individuals or groups of individuals who make a regular business of venture capital investment (angel investors or business angels) and invest in equity securities unlisted companies, provided that their total investment in the same enterprise is less than the 1,250,000 euros.Universidades or nonprofit research institutions lucrativos.Inversores, including regional development funds.
Autonomous local authorities with an annual budget of less than EUR 10 million and a population less than 5,000 inhabitants
