Time-domain explained

Domain names expire. Registrars are allowed to provide domain name registration for a period ranging between 1 and 10 years. After the elapsed period of registration of domain names, domain is set to expire. We are usually notified by your domain registrar of any outstanding deadlines. If you decide against renewing the domain, the domain will expire at the end and fell into the pool of available domain.

Be aware that registrars offer the ability to automatically renew domain names. If you own a domain of great value, or if you do not want to worry about your domain never expires, you can easily set up your domain name for an automatic renewal through the options that your registrar provides.

The name of the process of expiry of the domain is defined by a given number of states of the domain. These states are concrete and conform to each registrar, but the duration of each state can vary from one registrar to another.

Focus is the general state of a working group / live domain name. Domains in the active state may be renewed or transferred at any time.

On-hold status is the status of a domain immediately after the expiration date. A domain on-hold status stop working, and the site that uses this domain appears to be low.

During on-hold status, the domain may still be renewed at the normal rates of renewal by the owner. The on-hold status duration varies between registrars.

Redemption Period status is a recent addition to the original owner by ICANN by providing a second chance to renew their domain.

The redemption period lasts 30 days to all registrars and renewal costs are larger then a renewal rate overall. To renew a domain in redemption period, the owner must pay the fee and goes up to over $ 150, depending on the registrar.

Pending Delete status is the final state prior to issuance of a domain name. This was after the repayment period and lasts up to 5 days.

There is no way for the original owner to renew their domain at this time, aside from waiting for the domain to be released and then attempt to re-register.

It 'important to note that nowadays almost no waiting period to enter the domain of elimination. If you are any good, are placed in an auction by the registrar and only if there are no tenders will eventually fall. Almost all the major registrars have an auction of the domain associated with maturity. Godaddy TDNAM has, Enom / NetSol have NameJet etc. ...
